We have two infant classrooms in our center. Our Infant 1 room has 6 children and 2 staff members. This room is for children 6 weeks to 6 months of age. Our Infant 2 room has 8 children and 2 staff members. This room is for children 6 months to 12 months of age. The infant schedule is based on the individual needs of the children. Upon enrollment (and every three months until the child is 12 months old) parents will complete our infant feeding plan and it will be posted in the room so the staff can maintain each child’s individual schedule. Our spacious infant rooms allow children to move around freely and explore the environment around them. For the non-mobile infants, there are swings, bouncers, and lots of floor play for them to develop strength and coordination of muscle groups. Children in the cruiser stage, or beginning walking, are able to move about freely on their own. There are foam climbing structures as well as soft areas used to aid in their gross motor skills. Social interactions, between peers and teachers, are processes that help develop communication skills, as your child forms ideas of socially appropriate roles and behaviors while gaining a sense of security and safety in their environment. Children in this age group experience their surroundings in new and exciting ways on a daily basis. Monthly lesson plans are completed and are designed to assist every child in achieving all their developmental milestones. Everything and every situation encountered, from physical objects to social interactions, are learning experiences that are encouraged by teachers as they safely navigate daily experiences. These experiences are varied and developmentally appropriate based on individual needs and interests. We strictly follow all SIDS regulations. Due to state regulations, we cannot allow any child to wear any type of teething necklaces/bracelets while at the center.
The Lead Teacher of the infant rooms is Mrs. Hollie Tinker. Mrs. Hollie has been with SPLC for 2 years. She completed her TCC in 2023. She holds current CPR/First Aid certification. She has been married for 24 years and has three children.
